AIDS Watch Ohio 2011
AIDS Watch Ohio 2011
February 24, 2011YWCA - 65 S. Fourth St., Columbus
AIDS Watch Ohio 2011 will bring together consumers, professionals, and policy makers from around the state to discuss the issues that are important to Ohio’s HIV/AIDS community. Modeled after the national AIDS Watch program produced by the National Association of People With AIDS (NAPWA), AIDS Watch Ohio is a statewide advocacy effort offering a unique opportunity for people to visit with elected officials in Columbus. OAC believes that Ohio’s elected officials must hear from people living with HIV/AIDS and their allies about the importance of local, state and federal funding for HIV/AIDS services.
Space is limited for the AIDS Watch Ohio 2011. To access an AIDS Watch application form, click here
Applications will be considered based, in part, on applicants’ demonstrated leadership activities and awareness of the legislative process. AIDS Watch Ohio 2011 is free to all participants whose applications are accepted.
AIDS Watch Ohio will consist of training and scheduled legislative visits to offices of State House Representatives and State Senators. To attend the legislative visits, participants will be required to attend the AIDS Watch Ohio training.
Questions regarding AIDS Watch Ohio 2011 should be directed to Sarah Sobel at the Ohio AIDS Coalition’s Cleveland office: (216) 881-7418.
